I am starting from zero
Set up one input mode, complete three Hive drills, choose a forgiving loadout and enter the story with a repeatable route.
Should I play in VR or flat?
Match the mode to your hardware, comfort, preferred controls and whether leaderboard comparison matters to you.
Which weapon should I learn first?
Choose by role, test attachments one change at a time and stop mistaking unfamiliar handling for a weak weapon.
How do I use the Hive?
Turn the home base into a short warm-up, attachment test bench and honest readiness check before a contract.
How should I approach the contracts?
Separate reconnaissance, improvement and score runs so you learn objectives and routes without repeating the same mistake.
Takedown or Last Stand?
Use finite Takedown encounters to refine a route; use Last Stand to test survival decisions under escalating pressure.
Your first session, in five moves
- Choose one mode for the session. Learn VR handling or conventional FPS input first; switching constantly makes every mistake harder to diagnose.
- Use the Hive before a contract. Test draw, aim, reload and recovery until the sequence feels repeatable.
- Lock one dependable weapon. Change only one attachment at a time and keep the setup that makes hits easier, not the one that merely looks tactical.
- Treat the first contract as reconnaissance. Read the live objective, locate danger points and finish before worrying about speed.
- Review one failure. Decide whether it came from route choice, awareness, weapon handling or pressure, then train only that weakness.
